^ The problem in the self-serve checkouts where I shop is all the people with 12 or fewer items getting in line at the 60,000 item self checkout. If they’re too dumb to realize that one of the half dozen only a few items spots is going to open up before the guy with a half a cart to go, they’re not smart enough to use the self serve.
I’ve got caught several times with the cashier at the express checkout telling me it’s okay to go through her because she’s not doing anything at the moment. Then while I’m waiting for her to check me out a line has formed behind me and I can feel the glares burning into the back of my head……

I’ve oftten wondered why the large stores have 12 checkout lanes and only 3 or 4 are open at the same time.
