When is Rob going to take Bucky and Satchel out somewhere? I love their excursions and Bucky in his ‘Baby Bjorn’ carrier with his paws sticking out.

Ohmigod… I had to run over to my roommate’s room to tell her about this one. We used to have a Maine Coon, and believe me, he would have eaten Bucky for lunch. His name was Snoopy and he really was very sweet. Except when he wasn’t. I still have the scars to prove it. Our vet actually went and bought a set of welding gloves to handle him. Oy.

“Oh I am the crew and the captain bold and the mate of the Nancy brig. And the bosun tight, and the midshipmite…” (It’s a “comic” poem about a ship in a dead calm that they end up eating each other.)

four of us saw that movie years ago. The next morning we were on a plane waiting for the last few to board. An obese woman was walking in and my son said,“If we crash, I have dibs on her.”

We have three cats, one of which is shown on my Comics avatar. Her name is Moxie. She was found by some pheasant hunters several years ago and she was tiny, half dead and half frozen. We got her and she is now “stout”. She doesn’t look heavy until you pick her up. The vet weighed her one day and nearly dropped her. He said “Wow, there a whole lot of kitty in that package”. My husband refers to her as the “draft/plow” horse of her species.

susan, after years of intense research and scientific observation, granted much of it is subjective and anecdotal, I’ve come to the conclusion you probably shouldn’t drink anything larger than your head either……trust me on this one…..

Saw an art exhibit in Kalamazoo, that featured three generations of Wyeths, there was one by Andy’s son Jamie that showed a lots of Main Coons frolicking in a field. It was great. He’s a lot more, um, can I say goofy with respect? I saw one of his in Chicago at another show, of a giant pink hog just inside the shelter of a barn with the door open. Through the open door you could see a snow falling. The pinkness, almost red, of the pig against the bleak background was stunning.

Rob’s look in panel six, peering at the oblivious Bucky, is spot on.

It looks like Mittens is still Bucky’s only conquest. Of course, she was 20 years old, toothless and declawed, but she did get a few good gummings in on Bucky’s arm before she fell asleep, thus sort of giving Bucky a victory. (Satchel told this to Rob as they were in the waiting room during Bucky’s first fang replacement.)

every maine coon i’ve ever known were epitomized the term, “gentle giant”, therefore i can’t believe the cat that beat up bucky could’ve been a maine coon.

oh, yeah. those Maine coon cats are…. bigger than everyone else. Think of them as your own hunting cat. (since the dog can’t climb trees)
