Like yesterday, Calvin finds some of his Mom’s rules hard to swallow. Before he finishes his milk, I hope he doesn’t spot a fly in Mom’s general direction.
Oh boy! Does THIS bring back memories! One of the things that makes C&H such a delight is that Bill Watterson nailed the characteristics of most 6 year-old boys dead on target — and then pushed it a bit beyond.
Yesterday’s comments about childhood memories got me thinking (rare, but it happens!)… the reading material that really takes me back is the “William” books by Richmal Crompton – she understood the thought process of 11-year-old boys perfectly. I started reading them when I was 11 myself and don’t pass up a chance to indulge even now, if I have the time and the opportunity.
I have been friends with a group of posters outside of this forum for close to 3 years now. Lovely people. Some of us met at Winnie the Pooh, which sadly isn’t carried anymore.
As for Luann, it does get a lot of traffic. I find Luann a very cute strip, not a soap opera as Dogsniff said, but I sure can’t figure out how angry some of these posters get. The comments are ridiculous! I have just started to mainly read the strip and move on.
I don’t remember this particular Calvin & Hobbes, and I have the entire collection. I’ll have to go through my books I guess to find it. I love that frog! :-D
Maybe Mom should allow frog days. I used to let my kids slurp noodles and soup as long as the dishes were Chinese or Japanese. They’d ask if they could pretend if other soups were C. or J. but I laid the rule down there. I have to say this reminds me of younger son when he ate spaghetti, or stuffed the last *-(saving best for last) part of the best of Thanksgiving dinner (the marshmallows, of course) into his mouth. Calvin & Hobbes brings back the happiest moments of my life: life with my children at home.I’ve equivocated over joining for many months, maybe a year, and I saw that Hobbes, whose comments are witty and sometimes enlightening, is celebrating his first anniversary, so I just joined today.Hi Marg!Hi Tanya!Hi Hobbes!

Hi Sharuniboy. You’re welcome. Please feel free to ask questions about formatting on this site in the future. There are many people here who are happy to answer them for you. Sometimes just one little tip can save a lot of aggravation.
Ha. I love the visuals on this one..@dahawk:.I’m not sure whether I should laugh or retch after reading the comic whose link you posted. Yeah—I’ll definitely laugh! Good one.
Hobbes (the poster): Woohoo! I wasn’t online at all yesterday but as you can see, (today) I saw your post from yesterday and after 5 days of stress and aggravation, I now have a new avatar for November . . . all thanks to you! You were absolutely right: I wasn’t saving my images correctly, which is why I kept getting those error messages when I tried to change it. I just knew it had to be my computer-stupidness standing in the way of doing something so simple!!!!! Thanks again for all your help. I really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!
Mom: “Calvin, will you stop that infernal gulping already?! You’re driving me crazy!”Calvin: “I’M driving you crazy? Or are you just blaming your own inner problems on me, just because I happen to be handy?!”(Calvin, having just been sent to his room): “Of course, I only meant that to be rhetorical.”

Makso about 13 years ago
He might spit it back into the glass and sip it afterwards just to show his mom what a good boy he is.

If Mom uses the ‘milk of human kindness’ instead of yelling, Calvin the Frog might turn into a prince …then again, maybe not!
