Frazz: WooHoo! It's the last nice...weekend. Shouldn't have wasted precious minutes locating my sunglasses. Man: Time spent in happy delusion is never wasted.
Considering how many times Mallett riffs on Watterson? I wouldn’t be shocked. .But Frazz seems more serious about what he does while Calvin’s dad is kinda a recreational biker, when he needs to burn some calories or on a good weekend. So who knows.
Blah. “A young Frazz would have closely resembled Calvin.”.What you need to get there from here? A guy who is doing something a lot like Frazz does now with these kids. He gets Calvin’s trust and helps Calvin find better outlets for his energy, maybe including a love of books, and behold the result..
Nice to see the development you guys have figured out.Makes sense to me…I’ve finally turned into the guy I wish I’d met in my twenties, for instance, although I still have to work on it.
What happens when you get out of a pack and your ride is marked with orange painted arrows but there are orange taped arrows from a prior run, and there are also orangish white arrows all over the place, and the roads are being prepped for water and sewer work by marking the lines with orange paint? That’s right, you go ten miles off course. And I don’t even know how far or fast I went, because my computer wasn’t working!
Oh well, they did give us milkshakes, and the weather warmed up reasonably.
Thursday afternoon I was driving in white-out conditions. Stopped at the bank, went in, came back out in less than 5 minutes and not only had the snow stopped, the clouds were quickly retreating, the sun was shining and all the snow on my truck had melted. Now if this could continue all winter…
I can’t imagine Calvin growing up to be Frazz; Calvin seems to me to be a kid who is going to end up in therapy for a lot of years, plus there was no indication of Calvin being a liberal arts type, he was more into science type stuff…

I commute by bicycle. Conditions that will seem balmy in Spring seem tough now.

And the real joy is doing it at 0530, which is what I have to do if I want to get to work on time.

If you’ve never noticed, Frazz IS Calvin – fifteen years later and grown up.
