Consider yourself lucky, Alice. The kids down here in south Texas don’t have any leaves to romp in.

In central Texas, all we had was cactus. Romping in the cactus needles was one of the highlights of the central Texas autumns.

“Leaf” it to RT to find so much joy in a silly word like “romp.”

Sometimes I worry that Petey’s going to commit suicide by 13. There are so few things he doesn’t hate.

Texas? Don’t be silly! I don’t have color changes here in desert part of AZ, but my back yard has plenty of falling leaves from ficus and people can’t burn them anymore because folks have decided they make air pollution (and still allow other things that are worse) Bonfires were beautiful! Landscapers cart away the leaves every month. I have cactus mostly just in front yard since a grandkid got needles in her hands. Citrus trees are not shedding any but I love all the fruit!

I like Dill’s hat. It’s almost as big as he is!
