I remember when they’d answer the door and dump a small handful of candy corn in your bag. Close friend neighbors would have candy apples or popcorn balls made for us.
You aren’t aloud to have homemade stuff anymore. Announcement on the radio the other day gave the “rules” for t&t and among them “throw away anything with a torn wrapper or homemade items” In this day an age, just go buy the kid their own bag and keep them home.
I loved getting homemade from neighbors (but that was in the 1940s) As a senior, I’d love to make them now but it would be a waste (see above) so I give only hard candy because unlike Clare, I know kids don’t like my kind of chocolate and I can’t afford to give those anyway. I just eat a row of my Green and Blacks per day (30 cal).
