Ah say Earl, its must be hard to be Humble and Boastful at the same time…

And sadly too many people these days lack those qualities.

Could it be that Earl isn’t very good at (m)any things?

Well, he is certainly good at feeding the ducks! That is a good quality, right?

The man’s a saint! Or at least he can be once he’s dead, venerated, and the cause of at least two miracles.

And Ben Franklin might well have added, there is not one of our natural passions more to blame than pride for human evil, depravity, and suffering..Pride says, “I’m better than you, so I’m entitled to do whatever I want, and to take whatever I want. Don’t like it? Sucks to be you.” Pride isn’t simply proper respect for one’s own worth and dignity as a human being, like anyone else — that’s only right, and good. Pride is impossible to justify or defend, except by pride itself; it’s like jumping off a cliff and trying to flap your arms against gravity.

O Lord, it’s hard to be humble. When your perfect in every way.

I try not to be boastful at times myself. Even though I’m prettier than any pixie that there ever was!
