yep, my three Chihuahuas can be sleeping in other rooms, but open a package of cheese, chips or crack an egg and all three appear in a nano second.

I don’t know how much real chocolate is in any US product. Some of my good chocolate is now made here but US companies have promised not to mess with recipes. The cookies may have some cocoa powder but most US “chocolate bars” have very little, and high temps, % of cocoa versus oils and flavorings leave little to endanger animals. I don’t allow my parrot to have any, also no avocado and only a little dairy. He weighs a little over 300 grams (312 after oatmeal this morning). Some people don’t properly care for their children, much less any pets but my kids are all grown and I now live with a bird.

Given the tiny amount of coca and chocolate in Oreos, a dog would have to consume more than it body weight in Oreos to experience theobromine toxicity.

When my dog was still with us – she would get 3-5 chocolates at Christmas as a treat. She prefered the caramels. Mom was the one who OK’d the treat and she was also the one that said too much chocolate wasn’t good for dogs.
