I think about 1200 volts of electricity might cure Burl

Good Morning and Good Night All Behave.

Ritz Bits, and Domestic Cheez Whiz? Sounds like the perfect store for the Pennys.

Leaky, have you gone to the Dr. yet? Try and get some rest.

That’s right, Burl, curry favour with the smallest basket with only four—now three—things in it!

Here’s a question. Does Joseph Pujol own the “Coupe le Fromage Shoppe?”

Oh boy, nearly cheese and kinda meat. Yuck.Nothing says cheapskate like giving the gift of almost food.Real cheese and meat need to be refrigerated.

Morning all — and nighty-night Leaky. Hope you can get good sleep through all this.

Ooh look - a Gene Rayburn shirt.

My Dad might have liked that cos he liked Gene Rayburn — I think just because he was once in the Air Force.

My Mom liked Richard Dawson and Allen Ludden better. They discussed this.

And Dad DID buy, much later, a Regis Philbin suit.

Now you see why I identify with Crustwood and its denizens.

Anyhow, if Burl actually says he’ll pay an extra $7 for the large basket…. hold me, I might faint….. Joy will whisper to him to stall for time while she runs home for a minute.

She’ll bring back a few clearance items from Big Lots to “fill it out” under the shrink wrap.

You’re right, OddBall.I’ve had mail-order gifts of that stuff …. whatever it is…. and it was years ago, when they had to at least START with some food.

The tricks they can do today make me shudder.

    Mmmmm…. Roquefort lotions.

    Pretty cheesy.

    And Marg…

Mikie was making a roundabout reference — good job, Mikie …

As you probably know, “Coupé le Fromage” is French for “Cut the Cheese.”

    Joseph Pujol was a French …. um…. entertainer….. 100+ years ago, who….. how to put this delicately…. well…

He actually had a successful career making musical sounds, imitating birds and animals. and even playing (cough) wind instruments and doing tricks…

all by sucking in and blowing out air or water from his nether region.

As “Le Petomane” (In English, The Fartiste)he performed for royalty and at stylish venues.

I could not make this up!

I’ll try to find a link and post it separately, so you’ll still have this if that one gets pulled.

And I just wrote one that disappeared too.

I copied it — so if it shows up, this will be a duplicate. Sorry….

RaspberryIce, I just said on Brevity that my early comment there took over an hour to show up, and now is second.

Same thing may have happened to Mikie’s, below, if he thought he posted before me….

Otherwise he would probably have seen mine during the15 minutes it took me to find and post the link afterward.

And fooled ya, Mikie - I actually have a little book about J Pujol around here someplace - a birthday gift many years ago.

Ok, yeah, I’ve had weird friends.

Those tiny little packages will be even less impressive in a larger basket. I remember when my dad’s company got a lot of those silly gift backets for Christmas (from other companies) I even tried some once – not good! But not all meat needs refrigeration. No dried sausage does, and I now buy my pepperoni dried from the only place I found it Nitrate-free (in CA).

@Susan, that is not as bad a gift as one my brother gave me (on the first Christmas after my divorce). He may have thought I would actually hang that “soap on a rope” in the bathroom that I shared with the children ;-(

Good work on the delicate references, SS, and thanks for the link. Oh that it were a YouTube video so we could have a “Blazing Saddles” moment. Do the ladies find f—t jokes even a little bit funny? Or is it just a guy thing.

There are thre things that Burl could give his boss for Christmas that he would really like:1. Come to work every day and actually work all day,2. Quit stealing from the company, and3. Uh, um, well…oops!
