My Mother -in-law makes a great pasta sauce, but kept all recipes in her head. Finally convinced her to write something down after telling her about recipes lost when a friends’ gran passed. She kept them in her head too.

Heart’s lucky she only took the notebook. Obviously has no idea how proprietary cooks are about their recipes.

People can be so selfish with their recipes. It’s one thing if you have a business based on your recipes, which makes them intellectual property, but otherwise you’re just keeping the love to yourself. if nothing else, they should be written down so they can be passed onto the next generation.
