Back when this comic was originally written, kid-targeted stuff was a lot more mature than it is now. (I guess now isn’t exactly the best comparison since it’s all bright colors and $#\^ like that.) But as a former middle schooler myself, I can tell you that this is normal for most middle school boys. (Unfortunately.)
