Buying concert tickets from BASS/Ticketmaster? Or from anybody, anywhere? Grab yer ankles, ‘cause with today’s prices, you’re skrewed!

Meanwhile, WTF has happened to the size of the Sunday recap? This is an outrage!

The hand “size” tells it ALL in panel 3. Locker is still doing some of the penciling. Imagine the heel of the palm resting on the point of the chin, - fingers reaching up (?) Poor babyfingers, they couldn’t even touch, (farless) scratch Maestro’s nose.

From that hand position the fingers should easily reach above and beyond the eyebrows.I’ve said this about thirty to forty times, while an oblivious Locher has drawn them “Tiny-Tim” style 3 to 4 thousand times, and is apparently comfortable with that absurdity (?)

He can escape with that nonsense in his political cartoons but it makes his Tracy work look infantile and amaturish. And you have to wonder if with that impediment his test scores at Art school inched above “zero” in Anatomy (?)

Is the index finger drawn long enough to pull a “TRIGGER” ? And is holding the phone up by the tip of the fingers acceptable (?) The grip depicted in the penultimate panel seems so much more natural !

But I guess it’s a little late in life to refine these things

You guys remind me of “History of the World, Part 1”, by Mel Brooks. The caveman scene with the artist and then enters the critic… LOL.

The artwork today it’s horrible. It’s a shame. Hand, faces, everything it’s a disaster.

    My god.

Fake concert tickets - Locher has been reading the Gasoline Alley strip!

GA’s last story dragged on a bit, but nothing as bad as DT’s recent circus fiasco, and now this story is dragging as well.

DT’s artist (Locher I presume?) should read Gasoline Alley, it might teach him how to draw hands. Scancarelli’s hand artwork is some of the best in the business.

Will we ever find out who tells “idiot” son, that the value of what he has (the violin ?) is worth more than $10 Million ?

Or is this another Locher “dead end” story turn (thrown in for “effect” - like the Credit card scam) and we’ll never hear anything more about this character ?

I’ve seen enough of his work to know it is !

Grimegobber’s Tipsbook: Buying tickets from strangers on the street is a lot like buying drugs from strangers on the street. Look at what the drugs I bought are doing to me! :D

Wanna buy my tickets? Or are they bubble gum cards? Wanna buy my bubble gum cards? Or tickets? I’m not sure exactly what they are … I’m too high to know the difference…. :D

I think we’re being set up for “string” jokes: High strung and “I’ll string him up…”

Someone is being strung along and I think it’s the few readers left.

Am I reading this right… the buyer is saying that $10 million isn’t enough. And the seller says “just do it”… and he wants cash. If the buyer pays in cash with $1,000 bills, that’d be ten thousand $1,000 bills, wouldn’t it? And, I bet they’ll show up with an envelope in their pocket with the money.

I want the pig on wheels back!

Too bad Gertie on Gasoline Alley hadnt seen today’s Crime Goobers Textbook. She’d have saved herself alot of trouble. And us a long story arc.

I love how the Maestro has pinned the phone to his face at the concert hall. Or is the phone glued to his fingertips and he’s waving it around his face?

It’s the new fashion – superglue one side of your phone to your fingertips and the other side to your ear, and never turn it off! Blackberries are obsolete, not conspicuous enough.

The next fad to come along will be elbow bracelets. You’re sticking out your elbow – so ornament it!

Of course Dick Tracy is not going to do that. He’s been wearing his 2-way wrist teevee for about 40 years. He used to be ahead of his time….

VistaBill, Maestro’s son is on the phone with a middle-man, not with the buyer.

Sydney Phillips, you still around? I’m feeling great despair at the state of ‘Brenda Starr’ lately. It seems that Mmes. Brigman and Schmich have gotten lazy. Many panels are re used, and the last story left us with too many unanswered questions. Perhaps the ladies have spent too much time with M. Locher while employed by TMS?

Oh well, my Fruedian-Structuralist theory of Phil’s baton didn’t make it. But I like others wonder if Locher reads GA!

Include Jim Scancarelli for Gasoline Alley too! You know why we don’t see the yellow duckies any more? Not enough room in those small panels!

Flight Suit said, “VistaBill, Maestro’s son is on the phone with a middle-man, not with the buyer.”

Aha! I was unaware as to how deals such as this are formulated. You’re wise about the ways of the world, Flight Suit!

    merrymarge,

Yes, I’m here. Sad thing is, Mms Brigman and Schmich lost me several moons ago. Pity, the art is still pleasing but the stories never held me. And what a dramatic difference over at Annie. Maeder, like good wine gets better with age !

I don’t think Locher’s heart is in the strip anymore and certainly the ongoing contradictions suggest so.

I’ve taken to posting on his Editorial Board (occasionally) with Tracy messages as I’m sure he avoids here but “reads” there.

See one made earlier today ! ;)

I knew we were in trouble with this story when the opening was the same as the last story. Last time, it was Dick’s daughter that suggesed t the circus, now his wife suggests the Symphony. I’d like it better if it was an AC/DC concert or Aerosmith or Bon Jovi. Next thing we will see, is Dick coming out of the shower and it was a dream just like Bobby Ewing.
