My favorite literary character was created by the great sci-fi author Robert A Heinlein(?) . The character is named, “Lazarus Long”. I will be quoting things he has said, taken from “The Notebooks Of Lazarus Long”., now and then. I like his thinking and attitude. They tend to make you think.I offer an ezample:“The two highest achievements of the human mind are the twin concepts of loyaly and duty Whenever these twin concepts fall into disrepute, get out of there fast. You may possibly save yourself, but it is too late ti save that society. It is doomed.”From the notebooks of Lazarus Long. Think about that?
Good morning, VagaBonds,.We get to reset all our clocks today…….Just wish they wouldn’t mess with the time. Unfortunately we have over 35 different time pieces, and only two are automatic. .I’m coming out of the chemo side effects today. I’m practically human! Woo Hoo.
A good sabbath to all..Seems like on sunday I aways get here just before I got’a leave for church, oh well..Our clocks are slowly being turned back, will be nice to get some light back in the morning..As for Heinlein, I’ve only read “Starship Troopers”, the book is better than the movie..Well ready for Church, be going soon..\\//_
I never mentioned it before, but I self-published a fantasy-fiction book called “The Promise of Bisibi.” You can see the front and back covers (with an excerpt on the back cover) on my Facebook: Arye Barkai
It’s “fantasy fiction” as opposed to “science fiction.”
Slim, I too loved Heinlein’s work, especially Lazarus Long. I stopped “loving” him right about the time he wrote “Job: A Comedy of Justice”. His later books got too surreal for me with all the inter-dimensional and time travel and sentient computers. Some of his early works, however are still among my favorites. “Methuselah’s Children” (where Lazarus Long was introduced) “Starship Troopers” and even “Stranger in a Strange Land” are all a really good read. A lot of his early stuff was written with teenage boys in mind, but this “senior” lady still loves them.
Good Evening Vagabonds..In 1971 my boyfriend gave me “Stranger in a Strange Land”. I was hooked and read every book by him that I could find. Still keep a collection of short stories close at hand for a quick read. Always loved the stories about the Long family.

Morning, Vagabonds.
Slim. I always enjoyed Lazurus Long, myself. In fact I have Heinlein’s autograph. He was my favorite author until I met him in person.
