In the long hot humid heat of summer I watch Christmas specials. Otherwise, I ignore it until the 25 Days of Christmas on Family Channel.

Why can’t retailers just let us have one holiday at a time? The older we get the faster time goes, so I’d like to just sit back and enjoy Thanksgiving before the insanity (inanity?) of Christmas sets in.

Haha! How on Earth did Arlo get so lucky so as to be surprised Christmas decorations are out two weeks prior to Thanksgiving?!?!?! He must not have had to go shopping for a decade or more! Damn, I would relish not having to have gone into any of those annoying stores for a decade or more like that!!!! My wife sends me to the stores to get “this and that” all the time.

Canoe-full, Mother Nature owes us a blizzard at Lambeau Field this season. They play at home a couple times in December, and on January 1…..Ten inches right at game time would be interesting. I’m told they heated the field when they renovated…so it might not be as spectacular as I think… Go Packers! 9 and 0? No reason to stop winning now…

I despise seeing valentines day goods on sale in mid-December as well. But it’s about money — get as much as possible.

And I realize that if we did not buy Christmas items in October, they would not put them up for sale.

In Orthodox observance, the first Sunday of Advent is the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the season lasts until Epiphany, Jan. 6th. Just saying.

I don’t mind the decorations in stores so much this early in the year, but why the holiday music? Winter Wonderland in October is just plain wrong .
