Transcript:
Dad: We are grateful for our health, our comfortable home, our love for each other and for the wonderful bounty. Baldo: Amen. Gracie: Whoo-hoo! Yes! You rock! Gracie: Sometimes god deserves a standing ovation.
Absolutely. Everyone either has class — and respect for others — or they don’t. When I was an Atheist/Agnostic I did very much as you describe, and didn’t argue/debate with any believer who didn’t ask me to “explain” my views.
__Obviously many Atheists — and “people of faith” for that matter — have class enough to allow for others’ beliefs. No need to be rude, generally..Me? I’ve never understood the big deal about prohibiting organized prayer in school, or in government. If any person wants to pray, they can pray any time… on their own, and silently. Banning prayer? Non-issue.That said, I don’t think that organized prayer has any place in any publicly funded institution. It’s disrespectful of those who think/believe differently.

Being an atheist, I could give the opposing viewpoint, but I’ll save it for a more appropriate time. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
