Please don’t use people with mental illness as a punch line. I suspect you wouldn’t dream of exploiting people with rheumatoid arthritis or asthma or juvenile diabetes in that manner.
Everybody seems to be missing guy & rOdd’s hidden gag. They’re riffing on a line from “On Golden Pond”, which was filmed in New Hampshire.(And Susan Sunshine, if they’re from Maine, they’re not loons. They’re Maine-iacs. Just ask one.)
I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about. The only image I see in my link are Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn in the promotional poster for the film, and they’re at the top of the link. Maybe you’re seeing something which is browser-dependent, or the result of some browser cookie that’s set in your browser?
I refuse to think with the “PC” folks. It IS OK to laugh at anyone and everything and say "Merry Christmas and sing Christmas carols etc, etc. Don’t try to spoil the fun of others. I notice they even tried to placate the spoilers by specifying “criminally” (not just normal insane) – and we still see complaints ;-((

Of course, somebody from New Hampshire, will probably e-mail Guy and rOdd to say those crazies are running INTO New Hampshire from Maine.

This is an overused joke and I think it is in a bit of poor taste. Bad job, Guy and Rodd.
