Evening all..Looks like the zoom is broken for this Sunday strip. I hope it isn’t a casualty of the latest “upgrade” GoComics has made to their site. For those who are curious, Putty Puss is singing this song.
I’m guessing that Flat Top is the guard who escorted Putty Puss, and is a criminal who wanted a chance to kill Dick. The real Putty Puss has disguised himself as the guard so he can escape. The actual explanation is probably more interesting than mine. Cool to see some Flat Top artwork, though, whoever he is.
What the heck—I pay my money and there is no ZOOM on today’s comics and I’m stuck with this low resolution crap? Bring back the ZOOM function! These poor images are an insult to the art.
By the way, that Texas Ranger who got Bonnie & Clyde was never taken prisoner and humiliated by them. As the popular 1967 movie shown. Therefore he must not have had any personal vendata against Bonnie & Clyde. Just goes to show you how Hollywood always distorts the facts.
Intro (skip if you’ve already read any of the previous intros):
Hello, greetings, casual readers of past Tracy stories. I’m here because I’m on 2 missions. The first is something I’ve never done before, read each Tracy story by Mike Curtis (or his occasional guest writer) in one sitting each. I feel his stories are worth it. IMHO, Curtis is by far the best post-Gould writer this strip has ever had, and we’re all lucky to have him.
My second mission is to provide an immediately useful Featured Comment whenever needed. My 3 friends below will reply to me. You can read their replies if you like, but their only real purpose is to bump up this comment to the Featured Comment.
There are 2 basic types of immediately useful Featured Comments: first type is to provide you with a Mumblespeak translator when needed. The other type (this type) is anytime that day’s strip quotes a real song. I will provide an html to a recording to that song so you’ll know the tune even if you’ve never heard it before.
End Intro
The song Flattop/Putty Puss is singing here is “Safety Dance” and can be found here:

Good Day Vista Bill and all the gang.
Even though it isn’t the real Flattop, seeing the look-a-like really adds to the story and brings back memories..
Love the action. So real. Tracy crouching down to take cover.
Ms. Early should take cover or she will be known as “The Late Ms. Early”
This Sunday page was a great start for the day.
Have a good week all of you.

If that is Putty Puss, where did he get the gun? He was supposedly under guard.

Shouldn’t he be singing “I’ll stop the world and melt with you”?

I hope Tracy doesn’t turn and run like he did when Johnny Nothing/The Blank went after him at the Science Museum!
