Good morning all you guys (including those of the female persuasion) whenever you get up!

Todd still exists! We never see him but they’re buying him a radio. He must be awfully good.

After all, Timmy’s good whenever we see him but he barely rates a CD, and always has to share his kid-size pizza.

Yeah, don’t let Dale wear out the music — only so many notes on a CD and they’re Timmy’s.

Seems funny to hear Dale say “Rock on!” — then I remind myself they’re in their mid to late 50’s. Yikes.

Can’t imagine them Arrowsmith or Sammy Hagar fans but they might be.

    Eeek! They’re younger than me!!

    S’cuse me…. I…. I hafta go cry now.

There’s nothing like seeing a pic of yourself “back when!” Full head of hair, mutton chops, tie-dyed tee. All the equipment still worked and there were actually people interested in it! Now, all Timmy has to do to keep Dale from hearing his music is to turn it down. What’s that y’say? Speak up!

Good morning Susan. Good morning Leaky/Rusty or whomever you are today.

Well, back to bed. To sleep only, unlike that raffish fellow in the fading photo.

Much as I’d like to poke fun at Dale listening to Lawrence Welk, that was my parents music.

They’d both be in their mid nineties if still alive.

The Elvis generation is hitting their mid 70’s, and 50-60 year-olds like Dale mostly listen to rock or country.

Timmy usually seems such a good little lad, but today he appears to fit right in with the rest of the Crustwood rabble. …sigh… And I had such high hopes for the poor boy.

Burl, maybe you should wear that “note to self” shirt over your head.

Susan, my parents listened to Lawrence Welk too….and Englebert Humperdink.

For those about to rock, we salute you.

Susan, maybe it’s because today’s strip has little to comment on, except that I may be correct – the photo may have shown Todd, before his hair was cut. My parents listened to those and my dad was a band leader (big band style) from college days until he got practical and joined the family realty business. When I listen to music (other than opera) it is early rock and roll and also big band style.

    Good Morning Group

I see the “dumb” gene has passed on down to Timmy, who looks like his name should be “Tammy”

Ray C, here’s the deal. When the Saints play tonight, LSU’s band will play at halftime. The superdome will go into a frenzy!!Detroit better wear earplugs. Now, onto Mondays game.,,,,,,,,,,Alabama is favored to win, and I am a bit worried. Those odds makers know what they’re doing.I just can’t figure out why they are favored. We went to Tuscaloosa and beat them on their own home field. Now, they’re playing on our home field and they are favored!!I don’t know if you believe in signs but check this out.In 2004 the BCS National Championship Game was held in the Superdome…………….LSU won!!In 2008 the BCS National Championship Game was held in the Superdome…………….LSU won!!Here we are 2012 the BCS National Championship Game is being held in the Superdome, and LSU is one of the teams.Vewwy vewwy strange dont you think??I know you’re pulling for Detroit, but why are you pulling for Bama??

Lawrence Welk was required watching every Saturday night when I was growing up. After the show my sister and I would have to play the piano. That passed for culture in my home.

Boombox? I’m guessing this is just an old strip being rerun.

Leaky/Rusty/Buster—May I join you on the LSU team? My daughter did live in Shreveport when in the USAF.o

Well the first quarter is now over and it’s only 7-0 (for Detroit). Is this going to turn into a defensive battle? Nah! It’ll probably end up 45-41 – but for who?

Well it’s now 17-14 for the Saints, but I was expecting a higher scoring game. A Bears fan going for the Lions? What’s up with that?

Raspberry Ice — (just in case you still see this) Of course! I’m just saying somebody 55-ish isn’t likely to be commandeering Timmy’s boombox to make him listen to Lawrence Welk, which is “old-folks” music even to ancient me.

@Grog, for WHOM. and although I’m older than Susan, Welk music is terrible old folks even for me. As I mentioned, I’d prefer the Big Band style of Goodman or Dorsey.

My grandkids made me listen to Larry Welk and his champagne crap. The ridiculed my Al Jolson records and called them “so yesterday.” They thought the accordion was ultra cool, but I knew it would only lead to wurst and that f☭☧⌘ing bubble machine.

I never did like Welk, tho as I remember my parents did. I have quite a lot of music (some on CD and some on tapes) ;-D but gave away all my old “records” before moving across the country (IL to AZ) I like music but seldom play it anymore, just as I no longer play my huge collection of VHS tapes. I have just as big a collection of DVDs now and my TiVos collect things as fast as I can watch them. I see the last comment before this is 7 HRs ago (2 hours after I went up to bed). So Good morning! Going to read today’s ‘toons before the morning news (weekends don’t start until 7 for local news shows).
