Rejoice that the strip is in glorious black and white, for the color version makes the Son of Spike look like a loaf of Wonder Bread.

I prefer color, Old Traditionalists. But I was pleased to see Tracy throw Cueball’s words [from yesterday] back at him in panel 1. Young Spike is, as margueritem put it, just “copping an attitude,” and might turn out not to be such a bad seed….

Could be that young Spike wants help but is being rude because Cueball is right there.

Son of Spike may not need help now, but he will.

Sam continues to puff away in panels two and three … can’t help but wonder if this might have something to do with the story as we move forward.

@BillThompsonThe Wonder Bread color scheme was deliberate. Mike’s foster father worked for Wonder Bread for many years.Another vote for B&W.

It does seem as if Sam’s smoking is a clue as to what’s coming next.

A vote for b&w. Colorizing washes out the details of the art.

Joe Staton has always said that he draws the dailies with the intention that they be seen in B&W. Since it suits the artist’s intent, as well as my personal preference, I also vote for B&W.

Why is Ellen Degeneres wearing a polkadot suit in this comic?
