Good eye. At first glance the lack of facial hair had me fooled. When I was a goober in elementary, different orders wore different headpieces, some similar to “his” hair.
just like a real estate agent before 2008, offering homes to sub-prime loans. those agents knew that many people couldn’t afford these homes, but they sold those homes anyway.
I think it would be fun to know the actual subject matter of the art pieces. I had a college class in art history but really only cared about impressionists and surrealists as those are the styles I like to paint. I do some realism in miniatures on parchementine, tho.
A somewhat enlarged image can be found here, or at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry. The Scarlett Letter (link shows pertinent Wikipedia page) is, as far as I can tell, privately owned. It depicts the scene
in chapter 12 where the meteor crosses the sky, forming a bright “A” while Dimmesdale stands on the scaffold. The artist painted at least one other scene from the book. The artist’s Wikipedia page and collection.First, of the now 2 works, by this artist, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog, to appear also here (2 total).
