OMG! Gina has been found out by Mrs. Godfrey. But Nate might not be off the hook either. Can’t wait to see the outcome. Just hope Gina gets a little more than Nate.

Recall the strip a few days ago, when Mrs. Godfrey thought Nate was changing his behavior. Honestly, this ain’t looking good.

I’m still having a good chuckle over Nate’s face in yesterday’s last panel! And I’m looking forward to the look on Mrs Godfrey face when she realizes why Nate’s been so good all week.

Gina is not a bad person, just a very unpleasant one – and arrogant, too. A kinder person would label Gina as a very unhappy girl who finds happiness in other people’s misfortune.

Nate is a pleasant person, but – like Gina – is also arrogant. Nate is quite normal for a young man – full of beans, smart but not wise. An unkind person would label Nate as a very disrespectful brat who finds happiness in getting away with mischief.

Gina would be the type of person that grows up to be a prosecuting attorney. Nate, if he was a lawyer, he would be a defense attorney.

Bottom line, though – Nate doesn’t go around wanting to control others. Gina, however, seems to me to be the kind of girl that would trap small animals and keep them in bottles with holes punched through the lid.

Who would I send to detention? Gina. Nate took on a challenge to be good (mind you, I think the 10 bucks is going to be forfeit) while Gina was rooting for Nate to screw up. Gina was, in her own way, encouraging Nate to screw up – and took on a mantle of power that clearly did not belong to her.

However, if Mrs. Godfrey sends Nate to detention, she will be doing a disservice – and will fuel the fire to Nate’s rebellious nature.

Nate’s good behavior was still phony and Ms. Godfrey likely won’t miss that either. I’m betting on detention for both of them which is a fate worse than death for Gina. Neither one wins that way, Ms. Godfrey will see to that.

Mrs. Godfrey (like any adult) doesn’t like being played for a fool, and it just became clear to her she was being played by both kids. Gina may not be the only one to suffer – I’d bet they both suffer some punishment.

Given her last statement, it might not be detention, but I gotta say this is a great twist.

Ohhhh, maybe I shouldn’t bet either. That could be detrimental to my freedom.

Nate, can maybe get out of it, Gina, not so much. Here’s what Nate can say: “I’m so sorry! First it WAS a bet, because I said my New Year’s Resolution was not to get so many detentions this year, Gina said it wasn’t gonna happen and I wanted to show her people can change! I really love the good feeling I get when I help people!” Too much?

Lincoln, that’s the best plot twist you’ve ever had! I can see Gina sitting in detention now. Ah, the poetic irony of it all. I agree with the comments above regard the nay-sayers and your strip. You rock.
