I just watched Food Network’s “the Big Waste” yesterday. I hope it airs more (or that they do a series). Too much good food is wasted (much that is even fit for human consumption) and healthy food fresh from a diner’s plate is just fine for animals. The dogs of a next door neighbor get the trimmings from my beef and skin from my turkey. He doesn’t seem to feed them much and his cat always hunts birds in my yard and drinks from my waterfall.

Most vets don’t want their patients on table scraps. Human food can be bad for them.
That said I bribe all the dogs in the neighborhood with just about every large bone I get.

Before there was “pet food” there was only everyone’s food, animals and man alike.
