    Hang in there, Dean, you’ll eventually get over it. My father had to quit cold turkey and lived to be 92 years old.

    I quit two packs a day cold turkey after smoking 25 years. How bad do you want to quit? That’s what it boils down to.

    My Dad quit smoking in 1980. It saved his life. When he developed a bleeding ulcer in 2005, the doctors were able to treat the ulcer faster than if he still had been smoking.

    I quit a three-pack-a-day habit on January 31st 2000 (at 12:10 pm.) Spent the next sixteen days in hospital for an unrelated illness and when I came out I had quit. Being sedated for the first week really helped…
