…yeah, but Pete gets the last laugh – he still gets a huge percentage of the gate(s).

Steve,Close, but no cigar. This was actually painted by Masolino da Panicale, perhaps in collaboration with Masaccio (this isn’t among his works at that link), 1426-1427. It’s a fresco, not an oil on canvas. But, I’m no art student/connoisseur, so what do I know.An enlargement is available here, and if you want a more detailed image of the congregation (2nd detail image) here.It took me over an hour to find that. Please don’t thank me. I’m not in the mood for it.

I once painted a mural in this realistic style as an altar piece for our chuch (per their request). I don’t care for the style as it looks too two dimensional. It was 8’high x 12’wide, painted on 2’ strips of canvas with acrylics. They hired wallpaper hangers to install it (quite an experience). @Mabrndt, I won’t – I don’t like it any more than you (some are not worth the time). Looks like something for a children’s book, as I admit, did mine.

Of course, that was before he took advise from an unemployed set builder (haysoos)… and hooked up with Paul and Mary… the rest, they say, is history…

and when the jokes didn’t work, ol’ Pete tried using a little prop humor and started his act with a plate taped to his head, but the tough crowd booed that , too.

@ elderflower:“Thou raisest thine finger” is the correct grammar – might as well be accurate. I’ll not belabor you with cases & verb forms. It’s archaic, but valid….

Regarding the “Frida” of a few days ago (unibrow). Bravo channel’s Andy had Hugh Acheson (judge on Top Chef Texas) last night who pledged to have it waxed/plucked or whatever if sufficiant money is raised for his charity – SWEET!
