There is a time and a place for violence. Nothing ‘got into’ Gunther. He made the right choice at the right time.

Gunther is being raised by a widowed mother, no male role model for him. Maybe Rosa’s father would see he’s a good kid and take him under his wing.

How about, “What got into Leslie Knox?” And what are you going to do about it? Or doesn’t Pittsville have any type of “No-Bullying” programs in place?

Feel nice to get that off your chest? But She’s the wrong girl to tell that to – go tell Rosa! And I do wish Rosa would report Knox’s inappropriate advances towards her. So many high school girls rather be quiet than be a snitch which give the wrong message to the boys – that they can do whatever they want.

Gunther why not tell WHY you did it. Did you notice thet Needlenose Leslie Did’nt tell the whole story when he did’nt tell the part where he hit on her? Or I should say why didnt Rosa tell he tried to hit on her too? Its always the onne that tries to correct the situation that get the wrong end of the stick. I was picked on too when I was growing up and I was always tried to defend myself and the one that was picking on me turned it around to make it look like I started it. Well of course I was the one that go into trouble and the one that picked on me got away with it. Tell her what actually happened Gunther.

Obviously, you don’t know what is the right thing.

It’s very helpful of the School Counselor, Miss Phelps, to get Gunther to open up about his feelings for Rosa Aragones. Once Gunther can face himself, he can face Leslie, or Rosa, or anyone else.

The good thing is it will be on record, perhaps Gunther will tell Ms Phelps what Leslie was saying/doing to Rosa.

I think Rosa knows how Gunther feels about her and perhaps will have the patience and wait for him to finally confess his feelings.

Leslie will be another issue.

Five bucks sez she won’t get it at all, or give him a “plenty of fish in the sea” response so he won’t do that again.

Oh gawd, another week of Gunth and many other things I don’t care about, barf. Call me when TJ and AI come back.

Thought about this while eating breakfast— Gunth will devise a self-protection plan patterned off a book he and Rosa each have read. Maybe something from Lord of the Rings. Or from Dickens? (Any ideas?) Or something using fulcrums, levers and sufficient “g” to inflict pain but not physical injury.

Something will go wrong, Rosa will step in and finish the act. At which point Gunth will say “Thanks, but I could have taken care of that myself.”

And Rosa will say, “…”.

Nameplate: “Confabulator” “Count Slur”? Are these typical jokes for this strip?

Hey Miss Phelps, how about going after the jerk who was harassing Rosa instead of the person who stuck up for her. Or do you think sexual harassment is OK in high school as long as it’s other students who are doing it?

What on earth were you eating for breakfast? It certainly stirred up your imagination. :) Ms. Phelps needs to hear the WHOLE story…..from Rosa.

I’m hoping for a West Side Story rumble. Sharks vs. Nerds. Rosa is a perfect Maria.

Gunther may not be much of a fighter but I bet he’s a swell jazz dancer.

Ok, Greg & I are in the same age bracket, so he may not be current with present day high school goings on. Time to move on to graduation, and separate futures: college, tech school, jobs, etc. Of the group, only Tiffany knows what she wants so I’d like to see a spin-off on Tiff & Crystal going to Hollywood, with Knute tagging along. Crystal could always get a job hosting late night horror movies on a cable channel, like Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Tiff’s pursuit of movie fame could have endless roads…..all wacky. All these other characters are suffering too much and it detracts from what should be a funny comic strip.

If Gunther were to tell Rosa his feelings, then there would be less interesting story ideas for this strip.

I think Miss Phelps heard about Gunther actually hitting Leslie (instead of bumping him) and about Leslie vowing revenge, from the school grapevine as students heard Leslie complaining about “the dingle”

A question for those who have lived near the jungle, wilderness, or woods: An animal protecting his prey, or an animal protecting his mate, which is more formidable? That’s why Gunther will win.

I would like it if Miss Phelps just happen to come upon that jerk about to get his hands on Rosa and Rosa showing Gunther why she said she can take care of it using self-defence moves.

Interesting that Leslie Knox was the name of a USS Destroyer in WWII…

Actually a destroyer escort…corrected.

Leslie Knox was a navy ensign who died in the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942. He was posthumously promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and awarded the Naval Cross.

Is she Sergio’s Granddaughter?
