gmartin997, the reason you can’t edit is thanks to someone called Dogsniff, who used to go through a bunch of comics and mark them with the first comment with an ‘X’. Then he’d go back and edit them will ‘real’ comments. That way he always had the first comment on like two dozen strips, every day. The management soon had enough of that.
It’s an amazing delight to me that at Calvin’s age he can express himself in such an adult manner. Few children would have understood the usage of “related” and “relate” in such a way. :)
And the beauty of the circle or cycle of life is most everyone who has kids get to pay for their own raising, especially if grandparents are still around to put a few hints into the children’s ears.
I understand. It appears that you care, given your sensitivity. What I am saying is own it. Say thanx, and move on. No need to rise to the bait.Cheers.
I’m glad there isn’t a LIKE button. Having to actually type a response, critique, approval or just sharing ideas is the least we can do on a public-social site like GoComics. If you want to LIKE go to Farcebook and have Suckerberg steal your identity.I’m usually here at the end of the day when all the puns are taken (not that I would come up with some anyway)so I like to vote on what I think is a Best pun/reply. It’s my opinion like it or not and I enjoy my few minutes each day here and I try ignore the anti-social political rants by the few. Here’s a nickle, keep the .03 cents change.
Welcome to the human race Calvin.. We all are like that.. And it gets worse. Wit till you try to relate suzi.. You will spend the rest of your days wondering.. Is she for real or is she just kidding you..
And the heck of it is Calvin she will be wondering the same thing about you…. LOL
I love reading the comments made on Go Comics. They make the cartoons more enjoyable and a lot of times funnier than the cartoon itself or helps to explain what the cartoonist was trying to get across. Go Comics isn’t going to do away with the comment section because it pulls readers in and makes them a heck of a lot of money. I do cartoons and would love to read comments from readers. I am currently in the cartoon contest that you can see on the home page. I was censored for mentioning the contest because Go Comics doesn’t want readers to go to another site, thus costing them money!! Eventhough they are co sponsoring the contest. Go figure, whoops I mean Go Comics.
I thought every boy dreamed about finding out he was adopted ,his real father being a jet pilot or fireman, policeman, but know I look back,my Dad being a farmer was the greatest, for me.
That’s how I felt about my parents when I was a teenager! Even now, 25+ years later, I still have a hard time relating to my mother sometimes . . . and she probably feels the same way about me! I think that, no matter what age you are, at some point in just about everybody’s life, they wonder if maybe — just maybe — there was some mix-up at the hospital and those people — the people they call their parents — had to have accidentally taken home the wrong baby that day!
I know the feeling! I’m forever going back, copying, deleting and re-posting every time I discover a mistake I made or if I want to add to (or even delete a part of) something I just wrote. I sure miss that “Edit” button, too, and wish they’d bring it back. Does anybody know if they plan on doing that or not?
I’m afraid I don’t understand this discussion of errors in typing. I try to read my comment for errors before I hit “submit.” I don’t always catch an error but I don’t understand the big deal. No offense intended.

I felt like Calvin. Now my parents are dead and now, I feel the relationship, when I visit their grave!

Well, I finally caught up to this point in my collection last night. Soon I should be on volume 3.
I couldn’t relate to my relatives either, Calvin, but then I had a good excuse: I was adopted.

My God you called him bucko. Well, I guess the gloves are off now.

So there is some truth to what tbree is saying?

Poor Calvin. And just wait five or ten years, if you think it’s hard to relate now!

So Calvin made tracks and got out of there!

It’s incomprehensible that Calvin and his parents can’t understand each other!

As a supporter of your recent re-instatement, I am dismayed at your responses. Thought you might have wanted to check your ego at the door …

Yes, it’s usual in our town, they were married until they died

If Calvin is six and can’t relate to his parents, I shudder to think how he would have viewed the relationship when he was in his teen years.

A few scratchy lines nicely evoke a winter landscape. Well done.

I love Calvin. He’s 6 years old and yet talks like he’s 16.

I can relate to that. (I mean Calvin’s situation, not the aforementioned comments.)

I think Calvin is related to people he relates very well too. Neither understand the other. Perfect match!
