I’m curious what it means when you “flag” a comment. Does it mean you’re complaining about the poster’s bad behavior or that you’re voting for it to be put at the top of the list?
“Last Minute” creates the type of effort necessary to finalize a project deadline, even if it’s not truly the last minute. Think about it. Move the project completion dates appropriately, to accomplish the tasks at hand, then become pathological so you actually believe the lies. You’ll never be late again. . . . . . . CAN I GET AN AMEN ! ! !
I’m glad it works for Calvin … doesn’t seem to work for my 13-year-old, unfortunately. (He waits till the last minute … just sometimes does a half-a … um … half-baked job even then.)
I’m a writer. It is true that there’s no spur like a looming deadline. Some editors fail to appreciate that much of the last-moment squeeze comes from the difficulty of allocating times months in advance for a specific project. Life has a way of interrupting – the need for sleep, food, bill- paying, phone calls, mail, etc. imagine having to estimate how much time to allocate to those for seven months to create a coherent and appealing piece of work. See?
But then you have to hire a translator for the gibberish that’s produced during the panic….better to have it ghostwritten in the first place – it would be interesting to see what Hobbes might produce given the oppportunity….
Calvin needs the incandescent light (idea) over his head. “The light bulb was a invention with 1000 steps,” said Edison. Calvin hasn’t seen the light, yet! At the least, he’d better ignite the spark of imagination before it’s too late!
By the way, I tend to believe Calvin regarding the Noodle Incident. He got too irate over it to believe he feels any guilt, so he didn’t intend to do it. It may have gotten out of hand, and so on, but he doesn’t feel responsible.
++++
Yes, Calvin is a definite P: he always needs more information before deciding.
It’s been a few years since I last attended school but I was always one of those kids that wrote a report / did the project, etc. as soon as the teacher assigned it. That way, I could just relax and forget about it until it was due. Pressure, stress and panic have never been my “friends”!

Oddly enough, that’s the same mood which got me Latin honors in college.

That never worked for me. From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t work for Calvin either.
