Monty by Jim Meddick for January 22, 2012
Transcript:
Oh, Gerald... Poor, poor Gerald... Still unconscious.. But don't worry, dear. I'm sure you can sense my presence. Perhaps you can even hear me. So I brought some of my poetry to comfort you. Amid a Tuscan garden a sparrow alights upon... Oh, um... The doctors said no poetry... They said the best thing is to leave him alone with the television tuned to ESPN.

I love it and I really don’t care why Monty is in the hospital. To me this comic has no underlying meaning.

Oh, Gerald, poor Gerald, Momma’s Gonna Hang You in the Closet, and I’m Watching Golf on TV, so Shut Up!

oh poor Gerald. Confined to bed, so out of it, only the drone of ESPN keeps a spark in his mind. Now if wifey had come by with the latest sports section of the newspaper……. perhaps that little spark would had left Monty alone?

My dad enjoyed the golf channel in his later years. Now that I approach mine, I do Bravo, HGTV, Cooking, Food, ID, Lifetime and a few shows on local TV (especially morning news). I still love to cook all my food from scratch and make my recreation costumes.
