Aloha Crustwood…...As a retired process engineer with 38 + years’ experience…. I should be able to figure out what is going on here…… I will try to write down this process…….First TIMMY folds the nonpartisan and undecided flyer and stuffs the envelope and then hands the envelope to BURL (normally 2 jobs)….Then BURL spits on the envelope and hands it to Dale…..Then Dale licks in the spit across the glue line and seals the envelope and places it aside to inventory… There is no stamp…. .This process was probably designed by BURL and will allow plenty of time for him to drink beer and eat pizza which he will need to make spit…. Dale will only be getting those beer and pizza remnants….. ! ! ! .The invoice for volunteering will include only BURL and DALE as well as funds for beer, pizza and a hefty tip for delivery of the pizza MARLENE picked up….. That about right… ? ? ?

GymShoe, you’re a brave man, if you can stare at this scene long enough to analyze it so carefully, without flinching.

I know you’re in Hawaii and didn’t walk into that room in person, but it’s still dangerous. I hope you wore a hazmat suit.

I’m quite sure you’re right…. but every time I look at it for long enough to make doubly certain, it makes me want to gag (sorry, all)….

especially the part about Dale licking Burl’s…..OMG I can’t even say it….

I have to get into fresh comment box….

    Meanwhile…. Leaky…. I think someone should!But Stand back!!

Whew! Ok now I can say it:Good Morning Crustwood!

Marg — are you okay? Now you have me worried.

Good thing Marlene took off the “nice” plastic tablecloth….since that one is probably from Big Lots, the “cheap” one must be from the dollar store.

Oh — Gymshoe again — I had to get out of there so fast, I forgot to say….about that invoice…..

I agree that no matter what, it won’t mention Timmy, who always, in any activity, does 80% or more of the work for 10% or less of the reward.

Yes, they may submit an invoice, if that’s what you mean.

As for what they will actually get…. it will be zero.

Having volunteered in many places, I can tell you that.

A tiny piece of cold cheap pizza at a “thank you picnic” cos they can’t afford a *thank you _dinner_"….I’ve gotten that.

Paying for your beer and pizza for licking envelopes at home?

Only in those ads in the back pages of comic books, promising you’ll “Make big money in your spare time”.

That was almost as disgusting as the pizza, GymShoo.

I looked long enough to see the eye on the plate and that’s all I could take.

Vile! Vile! Vile! Aromatherapy at its worst. Hygiene at its worst. Vile!OK, I’m gonna talk dirty here. God knows what Marg was doing to generate a nosebleed, and it seems from 1Tim that Leaky is on the lam from the Inquisition. Back to talking dirty, the plan for Sunday evening is a pork shoulder, browned and braised in a traditional red sauce with both hot and sweet Italian sausage. I’ll serve it with orcciette and sauteed spinach. Of course there’ll always be the necessary nice Chianti and some fava beans!

G’morning Crustwood! P.U. is just Pizza Uno (not Pizzeria Uno, which is pretty good, or was, back when I went there) I always preferred Giordano’s in those Chicago days. Now that I make my own, I’m happy with them. I’ve done some of that envelope stuffing but only way back when I believed some of the pols. Being a scout leader and in PTA was majority of my volunteer work. I think those round things on the table are the cardboard that pizzas rested on inside a box; These people would not put pizza on a plate, even if they had one large enough.

Re the bloody nose: I had some out patient surgery on both nostrils on Tuesday. It was a bigger deal than I thought it would be, and it knocked the stuffing out of me. I have bad allergies, and the normal lumps and bumps that are inside the nose had grown way too big over the years. I went to an ENT, who shaved them down to a normal size. Hopefully, I’ll be able to breathe better without those obstructions.

Sorry to hear about nose problems, Marge. Only problem I ever have (also have allergies) is dry nostrils. I just use pure vitamin E on a Q-tip.

Okay I have to say this even if it means starting another arguement. I am embarrassed for Ms. Larson. That she should know such people or even admit to knowing such people for the sake of a cartoon is beyond me.
