What the kid needs to do is show up for the next philharmonic dressed in KISS “Goth”. Maybe the old man will have a heart attack on the spot.

    Where is everybody?

MPH is putting Apollo and Methusaleh’s Gate on hold ‘til January 3, by the way, and then he’ll be updating both according to a revised schedule. Just puttin’ that out there for those that are interested in his strips. Check his blog for details:

So, the two mil is to get the group going? I don’t have access to future strips, as Sydney does, but it seems like this arc has dried up and we’re going to switch to the violin and the mysterious bald man with all the hair. My other idea is that we’ll continue discussing the son’s failure for a few more weeks.

LOL Morrow I think if the son dressed as any of the KISS guys it would disturb the father…now if he started imitating someone like Marilyn Manson…THAT would be heart attack time!!

Awful, awful, awful. Particularly panel 3. The soon looks like a member of an alien race from outer space, not a human.

Wow, reminds me of the Simpsons’ episode in which Krusty relates how he and his father were estranged due to Krusty becoming a clown instead of a cantor like his rabbi father.

Guitar players are a dime a dozen. If he was smart he’d play electric violin.

And of course he doesn’t need two million to start a career as a rock guitarist. Does he want to retire a week after he debuts?

he had better switch…it’s getting expensive to smash a stradivarius after each concert

CougarAllen: Ah, yes, the good old prog-rock days of the ’70s, when half the bands had somebody on electric violin…

Froxkrybra: Nah, he should be a bagpipe player like me. With that hair and a kilt, he’d have groupies crawlin’ up underneath to answer the Age-Old Question…

I’ll bet Locher thinks that by having the son switch to a rock band, it indicates that he’s the ultimate evil villain.

Rock is the devil’s music in Locher World!

Araldite noted a couple days ago that Maestro’s son looked a lot like Don Imus. Just have to agree. An outside child ?

But for all Imus’ sins, “Luwig Harmonic” is his name, (his dad - Phil Harmonic) - it’s so hard to get “names” in Locher’s stories. Talk about “WAIT” ? BASSMANBOB will have to wait 3 more weeks on the new hairy(?)/bald(?) headed Villain’s name.

But here’s a hint ! Locher’s so much into the “stale pun” thing that, all the names are likely to to have a musical connotation. So “B-BOB”, if he desires, can ponder over it until 1-07-2010 !

Bassman, we’re still missing your great alternative story lines. Has Liam banned them ?

Talking about “missing” things. What ever happened to this board’s Poet Laureate - wndrwthg ?

    Where are you ?

Did your “Royal Appointment” to this Court expire ? Your flowing, flowery comment is needed more than ever on the flailing, failing foibles of “Rubber Duckie” senior !

I have heard of rock violin, a Stradivarius would be a good draw to his show. He could really make his old man mad and use it like a fiddle.

quantumtorpedo1 asked : “Did the Child of Moon Maid go back to the moon ?”

No! After her mother died (1978), she, ”Honeymoon” remained on Earth with Junior her Dad, and was last seen in early 1992 at the end of the “Fastlane” story. She was with Joe, Tracy’s son members of a new “Crime Stoppers Club.”

Max Collins the then writer’s contract was not renewed by TMS in early 1993.

Mike Kilian then partnered Locher, and Honeymoon hasn’t been in the strip since.

The previous arc was so much dross That it threw me for a loss A new story has begun Will it suck or be fun The former is unfortunately what I feels Here’s hoping for “The Pig on Wheels” To this story I’ll add my two cents Even though it may not make much sense He stole the Strad and vexed poor dad Sold it to a man who may be bad To play guitar, he thinks that’s rad But he may soon be not so glad With the violin he should have stayed Great music he could have made If he listened he would be in awe At the “Ragin’ Cajin’”, Doug Kershaw Jean-Luc Ponty, Wilford Gibson Are others to he should give a listen But like Einstein did long before him And it wasn’t done on just a whim To play electric violin, he must know That it has to be done on Desolation Row

Thank you Sydney, for your kind words.

Cool the Maestro’s son in a rock band … with his classical background he could play classical rock.

HOORAY ! He’s back ! And not only a current entry but including may I observe, an “electric” insight into future events.

Now, how about a return of Grokstein … it’s long overdue Grok ! Every time Locher eases out a “tit-bit” of progress my thoughts run on your comments. Particularly your “destroying” those fawning comments that were occasionally put on the board.

And, you now bassmanbob, why not start sharpening that pencil. You could start with the Pig that conducts, without the Violin that’s now running on wheels.

Wasn’t this an episode of ‘I love Lucy’ once? Ricky had a priceless conga drum and Lucy sold it to be able to get the tap-dancing lessons she needed to be in the show.

Dad has rung the police - he’s already spent a few panels doing it - so we can expect DT to the rescue. Or is he going to go after the crooks instead?
