What if Rita had a “Barrel Malfunction”? Meh, I was just listening to another story of something that ‘supposedly’ happened at Madonnas’ Half-time show.
Ah, yes… The ol’ barrel. Used to signify that someone has lost their shirt over a business gone bankrupt, or from losing big at the casinos. With the way the economy is going, this trend will be making a comeback
The “drunkards cloak” was a pillory punishment in 17th century england and colonies, the barrel top had hole for neck. The miscreant was forced to walk around town.
I’m kinda knock-kneed myself. As a kid, I could sit with my legs out at right angles, flat against the floor. By the time I grew up that stopped. They’d snap off if I tried it now.

I’ve sometimes wondered how the old barrel cliche started. Finding some old rags seems more practical. Kind of hard to sit or lie down in a barrel.

I tend to draw people toes in like that when they’re a little nervous or unsure. And Rita has reason to be right now. The peepholes are not mandatory.
