The Pennys are the only creatures that could eat—at that pace!!—whilst Jerry pollutes several counties. Of course, we are talking about someone else’s food, aren’t we? And Verla doesn’t need to worry about saving Jerry a brownie, he’s got plenty of his own by now.I wonder if he brings nature’s actions to a halt to open the door and talk, or does he “multi-task?” Sorry, why did I even ask when I already knew the answer?

How interesting that Jer’s empty chair is the one which is closest to the “powder room.” Wonder if that was intentional?

    Morning Crustwoodians….

Yuck.Did somebody forget to tell me it’s time for the 7rh Annual Crustwood Days Parade and Gross-out Competition?

Seems like we see a new entry every day.

Joy will, naturally, be the …er…. ride on the biggest float in the parade.

We saw Verl (Darwin)’s kitchen when the handyman was there…

Another time we saw Ma talking to them at the table through an open bathroom door….

There’s no keyword search in the archives so I can’t go back to see if either was in the same room — but Julie changes the architecture all the time anyway.Artistic license.

I do know this drawing has been used before….. cos Verl’s speech balloon only halfway covers up where it used to say “comics.com”.

Meanwhile…. Joy gets another wearing out of that last rinse of her GB w/OF…..

and the little face is happy cos Jerry’s in another room,,,,

And I’m off to bed. I already was sleeping in my chair.

    G’night Crustwood.

Ugh, this is so gross. Lots of those Brooklyn and Queens brownstones have the bathrooms right off the kitchen.

Leave the door cracked, Jer. So we can include you in the conversation.

G’mornin’ all! I did not remember this kitchen either, but isn’t the Penny’s toilet right off the kitchen also? I don’t want to think of the stink arriving at the table :-(Julie has many details which suggest those years to me- (peal and stick vynyl tiles and a plastic tablecloth of faux lace)

I have to admit, it is times like these when I am not so bummed out about being anosmic.

Actually, (by no design of our own) our currant apartment has a half-bath next to the cooking area of our kitchen. Of course our general rule for that bathroom is liquid assets only.

@SusanSunshine: I will tell you what I am always telling my wife: “Wake up and go to bed!

    Morning Crustwoodians!!!

Susan and Leaky, I absolutely do not want to see a comment from either of you regarding what type of “brownie” Verl is saving for Jerry!

This scene is sort of a repeat of some years back, and it must have been at Joy & Burl’s, because after Jerry made the remark about “going ahead” Joy said something like “oh Verla, we sure like your friend – he is so mannerly!”

Dave — where were you at one AM when I needed that?

Mikie!! I would never! I had a chance and I didn’t take it, did I?Sniff…

Even Leaky didn’t, and you know what he’s like….and he’s even keeping quiet after your direct challenge.

We’re really quite proper around here.Well, OK, that’s going a little too far…..

GymShoe — you’re right! No legs!

OK, it could be a patio-style table with a central pedestal leg….

But with all those heavyweights leaning on it all the time, I don’t think one of those would hold up (literally.)

As for the Brownian motion….. ewwww…. Poor Brown never knew his name could be used for a gross pun, even if an inadvertent one.

So glad our friend over at Priceless is back (posting on their FB may have been a little extreme, but they were not responding, and I’ve heard that as social media is read by more, vendors give better response. I did make a point of thanking them right below the other comment as soon as I saw he was back ;-P
