I’d turn down that invitation, too. But that’s because I live in one of the “unimportant” states with more space than voters. We always suffer when there’s a Democrat in office: Bill Clinton tried to let the “important” states use our public land as a garbage dump! This state actually did better under both Bush administrations. It’s been a mess for the last few years.
I consider myself a conservative Independent. I voted for Obama in the last election but will not be repeating that mistake. That being said. It is reprehensible that anyone would refuse an invitation to the White House from the President of the United States. I don’t care what your political offilitation is. I don’t care what your personal beliefs are. When the President says, “I want you to come visit me at my house.” You by God go. Out of respect for this country and out of respect for the office if for no other reason. And I would love to meet Michelle. I love that lady. She is awesome.
