Transcript:
Baldo: What time is it? Dad: 9 o'clock. Gracie: Doesn't daylight saving time begin today? Baldo: So it's 8 o'clock? Tia Carmen: No! We fall forward! Baldo: I thought we sprang back. Gracie: We fall back and sprang forward. Dad: So it's 10? Tia Carmen: Not if we're falling back. Baldo: Are we springing or falling. Dad: Um... Gracie: I think we had a power outage last night. Dad: I'm going back to bed. Baldo: Later. Gracie: Good night.

My in-law bought me an atomic clock, a clock that automatically keeps time and adjusts itself to DST.

And that’s the third DST joke I’ve read so far.

Like remembering how to tell a coral snake: Black , yellow black is a friend of Jack. Black yellow red will kill you dead…or was it black, yellow, red friend of Fred?

The joys of not having any daily commitments is that I wake up whenever my body tells me to.

Since that last posting (this morning) it’s now six with the finale at Daddy’s Homeanswering Tony’s question about DST.

Well, given tat there’s only on of the contiguous 48 (AZ)… Actually, there;s a switch you set when you first program the clock that tells it to ignore DST. Most of Indiana used to be “Ignore” territory . I have three “atomic” clocks – they’re actually set by a Very Low Frequency radio transmitter in Colorado – WWVB, at 60 kHz. You can’t get it on your normal AM/FM radio, although if you have a SHORTWAVE radio, you can get the sister station; WWV. The “atomic” part is that the time data is directly driven by the Master Atomic Clock System at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder.
