The closest I ever got to MIT was a Red Sox game at Fenway in ’87.

Living in Western Massachusetts, I just have to say how happy I am that this strip does not reflect what the weather is here. That was our winter last year, and, thankfully, not now. It just bring back bad memories…

It’s only in the South you are stranded if the snow covers the ground. In Michigan I have driven when I leave a flat lane behind me because it is higher than the ground clearance of the car. When it piles up in front and comes over the hood you have troubles.

After the Skype weeding, you can go on a virtual honeymoon! Then, after an appropriate amount of time, have a virtual baby…

This is one continuous conversation, right? so it’s only taking a few minutes to get the last 3 strips worth of dialogs, if you were talking “real” time. I think that the snow is piling up, but slowly as it might really do.

love the differing m.o/focuses of these two generations, and that they can (for now) still communicate over the not-a-gap-but-a-chasm

The most intimate decisions made publicly and over long-distance electronics. New paradigm for choices.Still: suppose a drama-queen flibberty-gibbet WERE facing what could be…might be…death…she MIGHT think of someone she loves more than anybody…maybe she’s growing up. Consider the source and the culture…

Me…? too bad I couldn’t marry even all the great women I really admired and loved…women have so often been a full -time occupation, I don’t understand how anybody can find work as interesting…King bee. Of course i didn’t work…there were so many interesting and fine women, who could have time to work?

Leo hasn’t asked Alex to marry because getting married isn’t something the new generation does.

Only backward-looking romantics like gay couples, or the supporters of Rick Santorum, or Alex (but not Joannie, notice) dream of becoming a “family.”

When a majority of adult society no longer believes in “family,” marriage will be nothing more than a quaint option, like observing Valentine’s Day.

Some people have nothing better to do. Like reading comics on the Internet for instance. It’s free and easy to do.

Does Alex not realize that the thing she is holding is a phone, and she could actually talk to the man she loves? Not that I’ve ever heard her say the word…
