Arlo: I remember when the scientific name for cats was "felis domesticus"!

The proper scientific name has never been “felis domesticus.” That name was proposed by Johann Erxleben in 1777, but was never accepted over “felis catus,” the name given by Linnaeus in 1758. Just thought ya’ll might like to know that.

It was domesticus back when I took cat anatomy back in the late Pleistocene and Linnaeus was given credit for it. I smell revisionism here.
