Nothing so satisfying as sending a mime dashing off, mouthing a silent scream of terror! Indeed, Broomie turns out to be a very credible shape-shifting monster!

And she did it all without making a sound. By the way, it looks like Broomie took care of herself quite effectively yesterday. I bet she was just playing with the crowd, letting them think they were going to get to see a beheading – right before she brought out her zap.

What’s so perplexing about her? Nowhere do the Laws of Cartoon Physics rule so thoroughly or so whimsically as in her Enchanted Forest and its environs.1. Only When It’s Funny.2. When In Doubt, Refer to 1.

Don’t you or that other complainer ever read the margin?…> Here in the forest, the inhabitants maintain a standard of madness where total irrelevance is the only relevancy. The strip is simply a loony-bin where what’s said and done often makes no sense whatsoever, much to the joy of its millions of fans.Except those few, of course, who stubbornly expect that total madness be reasonable (according to their standards, naturally).

If you are of a certain age you might remember The Red Skeleton Show. His routines with Freddy the Free Loader were awesome. Maybe he wasn’t a mime in the strict sense, but it could explain a lot of the aversion to mimes. The emotions he could convey without a word spoken make most mimes pale by comparison.
