You know, I’ve been unable to find any references to “The Good Ol Days” anywhere but this strip. Not that I’m really eager to see teeth-grating images of happy darkies dancin’ for de Massa …

I’ve wondered if “The Good Old Days” spoofed an actual strip, but I think it just reflects old, outdated strips carried on in perpetuity as a category. What comes to mind for me is Alley Oop, and Gasoline Alley (Alley theme, eh?), and Garfield (which I loved the first few years, seems to have recycled the same gags for 25-some years, and seems only to exist to support the marketing/franchising).
