She probably has so often that he doesn’t care anymore. Considering the issues Lila has with her mother, she should have empathy for the poor Doctor.

Presumably there are clinical-ethical issues in treating a member of your own family. Respect to the Doc for being cool about it.

Perhaps Matthews mom has pulled this many times before and he’s just tired of it. But I think she cashed it in.
