The USDA guidelines in schools are to prevent tax money from being spent on junk food. Kids can still bring their own cr@p from home. (An individual school could have guidelines, but they always could have had those rules.)
Oh well. It’s better than the story line where Zack protested not being allowed to make fun of gay students.
Except that this has already been done. A lunch was confiscated for having too much fruit and not enough vegetables. The mother said that the kid got veg. at home, but wouldn’t eat them without supervision.
Never ate in a school cafeteria/lunchroom until third year of college. Had a summer course that bundled us togeter in a dorm. Still a lot of the group would pass on veggies so I got plenty of their cast-offs.
it’s funny how the liberals think it’s ok for a comic to make fun of the conservatives, but let one poke fun at the left for wasting time with inspecting lunches and OMG I’M OUT!
And to the Johns I hope I know where you are coming from, because that incident piss— me off BIGTIME! But we have enough policitcal GARBAGE going on in this country right now. I like Zack HIll because it is pure and simple and fun. Please keep it that way. People come to the comics for the laughter and a moment or two of escape from the mess this world has become.

Yea, this strip is becoming tediously preachy. The moralizing is bad enough; the straw-men the two John’s construct in the process are the worst.
I’m out; I’m done with this strip.

When I was in school, we were allowed to go home for lunch—is that still allowed?

Aren’t potatoes vegetables?…if a hot dog gets to be meat…than a potato chip gets to be a veggie…fair is fair

I was annoyed when the school sent home a list of approved snacks- they’d better not tell me what to feed my kids for lunch!

yeah, i’m done with strip too. the authors need to stop writing it and start writing political cartoons since that’s what they’ve turned this into.
