Lingee Whiz: Look up the WW-II De Havilland Mosquito – two inches of 12 pound balsa inside two layers of mahogany plywood – all glued together. I am still looking for documentation that it was used as an ambulance – it was, in various configurations, a bomber, fighter, night fighter, fighter-bomber, reconnaisance, test bed for the bouncing bomb, target tug, civil mapping photography, and airliner (BOAC Stockholm-Leuchers run since it was faster than German fighters). Some are still in flying condition.

Ha – we had almost that exact announcement just 4 days ago. “Folks, we’re waiting for someone to come and tighten a bolt. Then we’ll be on our way.”

My dad tells me that a person can never have too many clamps. I wonder what he’d do with one that size?
