How about Andy getting a job and becoming Chairman (about two days worth of strips)—only to find he was having a “bad dream”?

I wouldn’t play Football on a full stomach, Andy.

    Especially if you are fouling!

You know what? I, too, am an Old Andy fan, but we all have to admit that the jokes are as old as he is. I don’t want to change him too much – abstain!?, please, but I wouldn’t object to him doing something that would make him more a part of what bedevils us all. The problem is, of course, that he is so well defined that anything out of the ordinary challenges our love of the usual – or, in other words, our comfort with the status quo. I don’t know – it’s gonna take some real effort on all our parts – writer and readers.

Take all the time you want, Andy. It appears you have the ball, so they can’t start without it (unless they have another ball.)
