WD-40 was developed by the Rocket Chemical Company five years before there was a NASA (WD-40, 1953, NASA, 1958)
WD-40 is 51% Stoddard’s solvent (a blend of mineral spirits and 15% light mineral oil (similar to light machine oil).Fish oil is not a listed ingredient.
Fair solvent, poor penetrating oil, very poor long term lubricant as it collects dust and grit, somewhat useful in preventing water related corrosion.
Originally used on the outer skins of Atlas missiles to reduce corrosion problems.
