Liz: What are you worried about your birthday for, Garfield? Cats have NINE lives! Aww...feel better now?
Garfield: I love you, Liz. You're a good liar.
@Alain HarperRead somewhere that cats sleep 16 hours a day. The trick is to to catch them during that 8 hour window of opportunity, and during the 10 minute window within the 8 hour window that they care to be bothered with you at all.
Everytime I came home My cat always greeted me and always wanted to be picked up and be carried. He always wanted to lick my face everytime I came home. In 2000 the week before Thanksgiving he died @16. I found him when he was aprox 1 year old (at least an educated guess from the vet).RIP my Moris the Cat.
AWW :-( I am so sorry to hear that about your dear sweet cat, Moris, Tinyman :-( You gave him a loving forever home :-) I hope you will be able to find another cat to share your home with :-)
Our neighbor had a Siamese that loved people. If you put your hands out, he would leap into your arms, wrap his paws around your neck (never with even a hint of a claw to hold on), and cuddle on your shoulder while purring like an idling Peterbilt.
@dfowensbyThe passage of time has somehow blunted the memory of all the detailed facts which you have mentioned. The nice, warm, squoozy feeling you mentioned brought back memories of the most unpleasant sort, but also of the perpetrators of that squoozy feeling. Cleaning of that matter between the toes required a strong constitution.
@whitecarabaoA fellow gearjammer. Never in my 43 years on the road did get to hear the purr of a Pete up close. Did hear the roar of a White Freightliner, though.Did lend assistance in paying the bills, though. Closest to a Pete was a Kenworth cabover.

Ah, nothing like a thoughtful liar to make the day tolerable.

I wouldn’t say that, but I’ve known a couple of cats that redeemed their whole species by their affection…

@Alain HarperThe terrifying moment when we commune with nature and WE become the prey to the predators.
