A lot of diseases wiped out entire tribes when the European folk began coming to the Americas. The Natives simply had never been exposed to stuff like smallpox, so it spread rapidly and with fatal consequences.Some historians estimate that over 80 percent of the existing natives died from the epidemics.It’s a pattern we’ve seen time and time again in history when isolated cultures are exposed to others. Sad, really, but inevitable.

And I thought it was the white man.
