I went to visit my friend in New Harmony, IN. She was in charge of making sure dignitaries and various artist had everything they needed. Simon Verity, (Google him..) was working on a fountain at the time. We had gone to a place in southern Indiana that is the farthest north territory of the Bald Cypress. We were sitting on a bench listening to the creepy sounds in the swamp. An eagle flew overhead, and Karen said , “Hey a Bald Eagle..” and pointed at it. Simon looked, and in his English accent, ask, “Is everything around her bald?”
We had a family of eagles hanging around our lake last summer. We’d put out fish carcases on logs and they’d fly down to get them. It was fun to watch and to see how close they would get.
Course, you know we’re not REALLY bald, don’t you? Just that our hair is white, and slicked down we LOOK bald. On the other hand, some of us don’t have as much as we used to….Wonder what it would feel like to use a blow drier?
Mythreesons, He’s considered the best in the world by many people. What an opportunity your sons had…I saw him carve beautiful cursive style writing in limestone with his favorite hammer and chisel. Incredible.. I have no idea how he does it. What if he made a mistake? And what he did at St. John the Divine is a work of genius on a large scale…
