The new Mr. Crime is…ME! Okay, it’s not me. I’m with the good guys. Don’t know who the new Nr. Crime is but believe me I’m going to stick around until DT nabs him or even better, shoots him in the heart. Like he got 88 Keyes!

Wow, that enlarged forehead! Wait a minute, didn’t he used to hit home runs for the San Francisco Giants? Barry something or other…

ok, now for my two questions 1) what doea “a capo” mean? i’ve never heard it before.. and two… why is it that everytime mr crime is mentioned, panda is in the picture/panel? today he is right underneath the mural on the wall… i think that could be a clue ;) where’s scooby doo, or jessica fletcher when ya need ’em?

How could anyone think that was a portrait of Einstein? His hair is combed!

My guess is you’ve already met the new Mr. Crime and just did not notice him. He usually projects the clean, solid citizen image that no one would suspect.

To me the portrait looks nothing like old Albert ,,, and exactly like Mr. Crime, RIP.

Mike, just read your posting on yesterday’s comments in which you talk about The Toad. Not the X-Men villain, but the character from Dick Tracy Meets The Night Crawler? One of the best of the Whitman books from the 1940s. I could never understand why this was never a Gould sequence in the funny papers. It was that good. If Toad is back, how about Spade Foot and Calico? Night Crawler was drowned, so that’s not a possibility. Amazing how well versed you are in all the different mediums. This strip is great!

Nice to see that the crooks haven’t forgotten the organization’s former leader. That’s quite a big portrait!

PHISHFACE as in the music band or the scam? A Phish band reference in Dick Tracy would mess with my space-time continuum. In a good way. Buttons did call the disgruntled Plentys the “original hippies” before he stole their truck.

Interestng portrait of Mr Crime, with normal eyes, not the whacky Gould eyes.

The strip has become so cool again. Great work. I’m hoping BB Eyes survives, he knows how to get out of a jam and work with others.

Trivia: George Alpha’s real last name was Alphanone; he was gunned down by Tracy and Sam on Jan. 11, 1953.

I think ALL the old villians in this strip has had plastic surgery at one time or another – how else do they appear so young after all this time? Same with Tracy, Sam, etc. Lizz goes everyfew years for a TOTAL overhaul… ;-)

oh, and looking at mr crime’s portrait again today.. i chenged my mind, he doesnt look like einstein.. he looks more like samuel clemens ;)

Also, when Max Collins brought back many of the old villians for the 50th anniversary story, they HAD all aged. Many of them would comment to Tracy how HE hadn’t changed a bit…

I thought the portrait was Geraldo.

To me, the stiff was the new Mr Crime, whoever he was, that Panda outwitted, killed and replace. Or maybe it’s Professor Emirc?
