I’m sensing a trend here. The moon has great food. Is there a bus there? There was in this one off-beat movie (whose name I have now forgotten).

That’s the point of finding lunar ice.

You haven’t been paying attention, g. The Moon has minerals to mine and build pretty much anything; sunlight for solar power; and ice (in the permanently shadowed polar craters) to thaw for drinking water and growing crops, and electrolyze into oxygen and hydrogen for life support and rocket fuel. (Not to mention Helium-3 that can be mined from Lunar topsoil and used for controlled nuclear fusion powerplants…but that’s longer-term.).The ISS took so long and cost so much because, unlike on the Moon, everything on it really does have to be brought up from Earth…and, of course, it was done by governments, for purposes of science. The Moon will be developed by private entrepreneurs in order to make a buck, which means faster and cheaper. :)
