Remember, he doesn’t actually haul off and hit anyone – he just smacks his fist intio his hand. So far no one’s needed any more demonstration than that.

Also, it’s pretty satisfying to see that although Ox isn’t the sharpest crayon in the box as for as most things go, he can still be very perceptive and just as smart in other areas.

So… Why do readers still keep acting like it’s real people, and they can predict what they might do next?

I think Ox sees right through Ann and he has pegged her as the bully she is.

See Ox’s eyebrows in the 3rd panel? They are saying “Oh yes, I know WHO is the bully NOW.”

The change in his expression between panel 2 and 3….he’s on to her game and knows who the REAL bully is. This is getting interesting!

Just went back and looked, to make sure I remembered correctly. Ox was nowhere to be seen when Shannon – bless her heart – sunk her incisors into Ann’s finger. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t somewhere in the shadows, but it looks to me like Ann is indeed suborning false testimony, assuming that Ox is dim enough to be bullied and manipulated. His expression in the last panel indicates that she is wrong.

Ann is in trouble now! When her sales suddenly plummet (Ox quits buying) corporate will be on her!

Ox looks like he is getting a little preturbed by Ann. He seems to be feeling a little bullied himself right about now. And we know how he feels about bullys.

Anyone else seeing Ann sueing Ox for threatening her in the near future?

You are So,SO HOT when you’re pushing Minimum Wage Earners around, and attempting to get Gullible, Trusting, Gluttonus Oafs to sign false documents, and just about on the VERGE of getting Your Face Smashed In.

C’mon, Greg has actually done a little frontloading to let us know Ox’s claim to witness the biting would be a lie. .I’m sure he did it in the hopes of forestalling 3.479 comments speculating about whether he really did witness it. So now we’ll have 5,987 posts raising the possibility that he just never ate there before, but was actually there running the security camera, surveilling the place to rob it, or visting with his father, a lawyer and a judge who’ll be trying the case and who actually owns WW with TJ – yet has never allowed his son to eat there, preferring to encourage him to patronize the competition. This is because TJ will be setting fire to it so that Brad and Toni can rescue Ann so that once she’s served consecutive sentences for perjury, treason, barratry, simony and animal husbandry (don’t ask), she can become friends with them and babysit Shannon, who’s really her daughter once removed.. Because whatever Greg comes up with, it’s just never convoluted enough, amirite?

Yeah, if Ox kept up the good work, it’s a nice bonus-worthy bump. But he’s only eaten there once, so let’s not lose perspective here. Corporate won’t be canning anyone if he never shows up again. .Burger Barn may send a nice condolence card, tho.

Hopefully Oxford will snap and tell Ann that she’s an example of a bully and got what she deserved when Shannon bit her finger. Maybe one of the executives at Wienie World will catch wind of this and report Ann.

You have to wonder how someone like her got a job.

ENOUGH with this story line! Either get Anne and TJ hooked up, get TJ a boyfriend, get Anne an Toni hooked up, or move on to another storyline!

I think some people find it hard to believe that some of us seem to go to such great lengths to argue the moral and especially the legal aspects of this strip. That’s why they feel compelled to remind us that It’s only a comic strip.

I’m not reading today’s comments. I don’t want to be automatically awarded a comic strip law degree.

I have been reading Luann for many years in print and lately on line. In my post I was trying to explain to all why “some people” may feel the way I described.

No matter how Greg draws her, I don’t know if Ann would come close to filling out a fur bikini the way Raquel Welch did in that movie (she could probably even fill it pretty nicely today…isn’t it illegal to look that good at 71?). “One Million Years BC” is one of those movies that improves in direct connection with how far down the sound is turned.

That paper must say more than Shannon bit Anne . . .

Anne herself can tesify to that.

BTW – Our dear friend Mojitobaby once said “The trouble is that you’re trying to apply real world parameters to a comic strip.” which I find ironic and amusing.

Ox’s upbringing will not allow him to use physical violence against a “girl”. So he will have to find another way to deal with this particular bully. I wonder what that may be.

Ox seems to know there is more than one type of bully. And She is one.

Wow. I overestimated Ann’s subtlety. Again we see her habit of punishing people when they don’t do exactly what she wants. She tries to control people, but she really doesn’t understand them. Ox may be dim, but he’s honest. He’s no pushover.
