Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for April 26, 2012

Transcript:
Phoebe: I wish for SUPER POWERS! Marigold: See here, child... Phoebe. Marigold: Phoebe, you must keep your wish more... REALISTIC. Phoebe: Is this like that dream where the giant McNugget yells at me about nutrition?
I remember reading Ozy and Millie, and the whole contest and everything. I’m thrilled to finally see the new strip, and wow, this is off to an amazing start. You’ve got a reader.
Dana, I love the look of Marigold. She is definitely a creature of the fantasy realm — etherial, graceful, and beautiful — so much more original than the “horse with a horn” that we usually see presented as a unicorn. Thank you!
I’ve seen a different take on the “two people who don’t like each other get wishes,” story.
In this case, the smart one mentions how going second will allow him to undo anything the other wishes for. Not wanting this to happen, his boss insists on getting those later wishes.
Smart guy’s wish number one: “I wish that he was my willing, devoted and completely loyal slave.”

Realistic wishes? Oxymoron, perhaps?

Drizzle, drazzle, druzzle, drome… you may want to consult with Tooter Turtle about wild wishes
Oh, next time that giant McNugget pops by, ask what part of the chicken is the nugget exactly… — Wait, I’m not ready for that answer

A unicorn is the arbiter of realism.

Unicorn say: “you must keep your wish more realistic.”
But yesterday Unicorn also said: “World peace isn’t even in your top two?”
Anyone who speaks of world peace will not teach me what’s realistic and what’s not!

I wish this strip goes as long as O&M, and would be even better overall! I can see already this is realistic )

Of course it isn’t realistic, it should be a fruit the one yelling about nutrition!

Now, was it necessary to take away the Bono reference from the Russian book version? Huh?

I can’t even wish for a full size, fully functional Gundam Mobile Suit?! Chuck this horse back in the river.
